Heritage Farmstead Museum

The Heritage Farmstead Museum hosts a variety of events throughout the year. One event, “Day at the Farm,” is sponsored by the Credit Union of Texas and features farm tours, tractor-driven hay rides, hands-on activities, and story time. The event is also free for children and includes a lunch buffet provided by the Credit Union of Texas. Guests can also participate in games of the past, such as the Watermelon Eat-Off.
The Heritage Farmstead Museum is located on four acres off of 15th Street in Plano. The site includes a restored 1891 Victorian farm house, along with other original outbuildings. The museum interprets rural life on the North Texas prairie from 1890 to 1925. Over three thousand visitors visit the museum each year for tours and field trips.
The Heritage Farmstead Museum features more than 10,000 artifacts. It is open Tuesday through Sunday from September to May, and 10am to 3 p.m. June to August. The museum offers free admission for museum members and the general public. It is closed on Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day. During the summer, it offers free admission on Sundays.

The installation process consist of 4 steps
01.
Digging a footing under the foundation grade beam using a hand held shovel (no heavy equipment is used to dig the footing).
02.
Using a hydraulic ram, the concrete piling is pushed one on top of another under the grade beam to bedrock or point of refusal.
03.
A cap block is then placed on top of the Pilings.
04.
Using a hydraulic jack on top of the cap block, the foundation is now ready to be lifted. After the lift, the dirt is placed back into the footing.
